Harvest Festival Lunch 2018

Harvest Festival Lunch 2018

Our Harvest Festival this year took place on 7th October. After the morning service, we held our annual Harvest Lunch. Some 40 diners enjoyed a splendid “Bring & Share” meal sitting at tables in the nave of the church. The occasion provided the opportunity for diners to have an extra-long chat to each other.

The church had been decorated with beautiful displays of flowers by our church flower ladies, Mary Burton and Maureen George. Trinity School children had also been busy in the church; they had made various displays comprising many arrangements of packaged food (to be donated to the Food Bank) and fruits of the earth. In addition, the children had made numerous pictures, which they had affixed to the walls. The Trinity School cook had made a superb harvest loaf, complete with a church mouse, which was displayed on the church altar. Churchwarden Barbara Williams organised the event, and she and her helpers served the food and did all the clearing away afterwards.
