Annual Church Meetings

Diners at the lunch after the Annual Church Meetings 2019

The 2019 Annual Church Meetings took place on Sunday 7th April following the morning service. The Reverend Duncan Carter chaired the meetings, with Mike Hails, P. C. C. secretary, taking the minutes.

At the first meeting, the Annual Vestry Meeting, our churchwardens, Barbara Williams and Michael Forsdike, were re-elected for another year’s term of office. This will be Barbara’s twelfth year in office, and Michael’s sixth.

At the following Annual Parochial Church Meeting, the chairman thanked the church workers for their continued dutiful dedication to their church jobs.

Currently, there are two vacancies for P. C. C. members and one for a Diocesan Synod Representative.

Michael Forsdike gave a summary of the church’s financial position, saying that the church is managing to pay its way, but has been unable to meet the full amount of its Parish Share to the diocese. Barbara Williams gave a report on the maintenance of the church fabric. The number of people on the church electoral Roll remains at 59, although there are a few late applications to be added. Peter Jones agreed to continue to be the church Electoral Roll Officer.

The Reverend Sam Brewster, Minister for ‘Trinity at Four’, gave a positive update on the growth in the love of the Lord through ‘Trinity at Four’, in which much progress has been made since its inception last year.

For further details of the above, and other aspects of the life of the church, refer to the Holy Trinity P. C. C. Annual Report for 2018-19; copies are available in church. There was not any other business.

Before the chairman, closed the meetings, he reminded us of our church motto for the year, Colossians 2: 6-7. We should not only welcome Christ and his teachings into our lives, but also conform continually to his teachings, and walk with Him through our lives with thankfulness.
