Outstanding Trinity School

Outstanding Trinity School

The latest Ofsted (The Office for Standards in Education) report, in its summary of key findings for parents and pupils for Henley’s Trinity Church of England Primary School, describes the school as ‘outstanding’. The inspection of the issues of effectiveness of leadership and management, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, outcomes for pupils, and, early years provision, were all judged to be outstanding.

The school’s vision is to provide the highest possible standards of learning and teaching and at the same time ‘to excel, to value, to enjoy, together’. The school, whose core Christian values are 'Respect, Care, and Courage', is slightly larger than the average-sized primary school, and currently has a roll of 281 pupils. The head teacher is Helen Jones and the chairman of the governors is the Reverend Duncan Carter.

New Church Sound system

The old church sound system was last restored some 25 years ago. In November, after being problematic for some time, it ceased to work. It has now been replaced with a new state-of-the art digital system which gives an excellent quality of sound. As might be expected, this replacement was not possible without a considerable amount of expenditure. An appeal is being held for donations to cover the cost of £1,540. To help to raise the money, Valerie Morgan organised two after-service Christmas sales in church on 27th November and 4th December when £105 was raised. In addition, members of the church have been generous in coming forward with donations, with a total of over £800 so far having been received.

Church Security System

In November, due to continuing operational problems experienced, the old church security system was upgraded with a new digital system, and a new operating console has been installed, all at a cost of £400.

Henley Living Advent Calendar 2016

Holy Trinity church was the venue for day fifteen of this year’s Henley’s award winning ‘Living Advent Calendar’s’ events. This was one of 24 evening surprise performances of fun and variety to bring the Christmas spirit to Henley and raise money for 23 local charities and good causes. Holy Trinity’s Advent window opened onto a series of performances given by Henley Music School. We were treated to both music and singing, predominantly by the younger generations, who gave remarkable renditions of seasonal music and song. It was delightful to witness how well they all performed.
