Christmas 2019

Choir in Falaise Square

On the eleventh night of ‘The Living Advent Calendar’, a choir made up from members of Holy Trinity church, especially for the occasion, performed in front of crowds in Falaise Square. The Reverend Duncan Carter gave a reading from Saint Luke’s gospel giving an account of the birth of Jesus. Abbie Nimmo and Lucy Brewster sang the song “Mary, Did You Know?”, followed by The Reverend Sam Brewster giving a talk about the message the song gives. Proceeds from collections went to the ‘Henley Nomad Community Project’.

Living Advent Calendar

For the sixteenth night of the Henley ‘Living Advent Calendar’, the ‘Henley Youthful Orchestra’ gave a concert at Holy Trinity church on the evening of 16th December. The orchestra gave an enrapturing performance comprising a variety of popular seasonal music, including Christmas carols, in which the audience were invited to join in and sing. The ‘Youthful Orchestra’, so called because it is made up of older musicians who just like to play occasionally, and raise money for charity.

Christmas Quiz

Duncan’s Christmas 2019 quiz asked no fewer than 100 questions. In addition, 27 cracker joke questions. How many Questions did you manage to answer correctly?

The New Year 2020

The New Year 2020

The New Year is now underway as this first 2020 edition of the “Trinity Times” is issued. This year, our vicar, The Reverend Duncan Carter, is in the 30th year of his ministry here, since his induction on the 26th November 1990, as the eighth vicar of our 172 year-old church. Michael Forsdike, originally a lay member of our church, has been our Licenced Lay Minister since 2003. Our church’s latest initiative, ‘Trinity at 4’, headed by the Reverend Sam Brewster, has now been running for over a year, and has successfully added a new family-orientated influx of worshippers into our church history. We look forward to another eventful year at Holy Trinity church during 2020.
