Mill Meadow Gardens

100 years 1919 – 2019
100 years 1919 – 2019

If you have strolled along by the river this summer, in the southern part of Holy Trinity church parish, you will have noticed the two colourful flowerbeds in Mill Meadows. The beds were planted in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Forestry Commission, one bed spells out the years, and the other shows the Forestry Commission’s symbol.

The Forestry Commission, was founded in September 1919, following the end of the First World War, to reinstate the trees felled for use during the war.
