Parish Lockdown

The Church of England suspended all church services from 17th March for an indefinite period, in accordance with government guidelines set out for Lockdown. We are now living through the most devastating event to challenge the world in modern times. Lockdown has been imposed to prevent the rapid spread of Corona virus infections, in order to level out the otherwise predicted high workload for the NHS, which it would be unable to cope with. The elderly are particularly at risk. At present, there is no cure for the disease. For the time being, the words “Stay at Home” are the keywords to heed. Outside the home, keep social distancing of two metres apart from other people. This does not apply to members of a family living in the same home. These requirements will reduce the risk of our catching the virus, and of our spreading it to others. Our clergy have kept in contact with church members by email and other means, so as not to interrupt our Christian journey.

VE Day 75th Anniversary celebrations

Due to Lockdown, the hitherto planned celebrations for V.E. Day had to be abandoned. Nevertheless, in the parish, union flags were flying from many homes, and a few small socially distanced parties took place with neighbours, when the sound of joyful WW2 music could be heard.

Zoom to church

From 6th April, the ‘Trinity at Four’ services have been available to watch and join in, on computers, and mobile telephones through the medium of Zoom technology.
