Christmas Quiz
Full marks to all those who managed to answer all 183 questions correctly in Duncan's 'Church Christmas Quiz'. The quiz comprised 70 general questions, 20 questions on pantomimes, 30 questions on Christmas lyrics, 20 Christmas anagrams to work out, 25 Seasonal Cryptics to solve and 18 Christmas Dingbats to puzzle over. For those who do not know what 'dingbats' are, they are picture puzzles that represent words, songs, book titles, or any familiar phrase.
Christingle Service Collection
At the Christingle Service on Wednesday 24th December the church was full of children and their parents. The collection made for the "Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children" totalled £325.20.
Early spring in the churchyard
This year started with a cold snap with many early-morning frosts that turned the landscape into a winter wonderland, just too late to complement the Christmas scene.
Even since December there have been signs of spring in the churchyard with snowdrops, crocuses, winter aconites and fragrant viburnum coming out into flower.
The north porch of Holy Trinity church was added in 1891 as part of the church enlargement. Inside the porch are inner doors leading into the church nave. The west entrance is normally used to enter the church today.
