Parish Jottings - February 2013

Holy Trinity Church viewed from Greys Hill

January Snow

January saw the parish covered with a thick covering of snow on Friday 18th January causing delight for the children and the young at heart, but, no doubt, inconvenience for travellers and the infirm.

Christmas Quiz

How many people managed to answer all 137 questions of Duncan’s Christmas Quiz’? It must have made you think deeply over the Christmas holidays. In contrast, the answers to those Christmas cracker brain-teasers might have seemed comparatively easy. Anyhow, it was all good fun and provided a centre of interest for friends and family. However, the answers to the quiz were not made available until after Christmas so we were kept guessing about many of the answers. There was no prize, not even if you managed to answer even half of the questions correctly. We look forward to next year’s quiz.

The Word for Today

The February / March / April edition of “The Word for Today” is now available in church. There is no charge for this publication. If you have not used this source of daily inspirational reading before, it is worthwhile picking up a copy to read. It provides a daily passage of thought-provoking topics which can only enrich your knowledge together with your views on life.

Wreath Rings Reminder

Purchasers of Christmas wreaths made by the church Flower Ladies are requested to return the wreath wrings for recycling. The rings may be left at the back of the church.
