Churchyard Clear-up

Churchyard Clear-up

On 14th October, the autumn churchyard-clear-up took place; fortunately, the weather was fine. The volunteers who worked in the churchyard were, Duncan Carter, John Burton, Mike Hails and Malcolm Selway, whilst Mary Burton and Peter Jones were kept busy working inside the church. There still remains some tidying up to be done in the churchyard, such as removing small self-seeded trees, pruning bushes, and removing ivy from gravestones. If anyone has an hour or so to spare anytime, and can handle a pair of secateurs, please do not hesitate to volunteer to do some clearing-up.

Harvest Festival 2017

Holy Trinity Church’s Harvest Festival took place on 1st October. The flower ladies had provided arrangements of flowers in the nave. The Trinity School children had made some Harvest posters and painted numerous pictures which were displayed around the church. A large quantity of packaged food had been contributed and displayed on the windowsills and elsewhere; a large harvest loaf, complete with an added church mouse, was the centrepiece of a table display. Packaged food, rather than the traditional fresh produce, is more durable, and easier to distribute; all the food will be donated to the Henley Food Bank.
