Guests at the church barbecue on Friday 28th June

Church Barbecue

On 28th June over thirty people were present at the church barbecue. It was intended to take place in the picturesque setting of the vicarage garden, but due to inclement weather, the church nave aptly became the substitute venue. Nevertheless, we still had the barbecue, which was set up outside the church entrance under a canopy. There was no complaint about the barbecued food, which comprised a selection of different types of meat, so we give our compliments to the chefs. Additionally there was a variety of supplementary food, most of it brought by church members, and to finish with we were treated to a mouth-watering choice of delectable desert dishes.

Fellowships for Mike & Barbara

In recognition of their outstanding service to church life over the years, churchwarden Barbara Williams and P. C. C. secretary Mike Hails have both been awarded honorary fellowships of the order of Saint Birinus by the Bishop of Dorchester.

Produce Sale

The latest Produce Sale, held on Sunday 16th June after the morning service, raised £60.60 for church funds. As usual a variety of home produced jam, marmalade and an array of cakes were on sale, as well as a forest of garden plants produced by the green-fingered members of the church. We must thank Valerie Morgan, who has now been organising these after-service Produce Sales for two years, for all her work and the welcome addition that the sale proceeds have made in supplementing the church income. Also, we must thank all those who have helped with and given their support to the sales.
